WHO IS SKAI ISYOURGOD?
SKAI ISYOURGOD known to many as Lan Lao (揽佬)is one of the rare Chinese rappers who turned a deeply local voice into a global extravaganza. Born in Huizhou, Guangdong, Skai has built his growing career by fusing Memphis-inspired southern rap with local Chinese dialects in his music. His unique style doesn't imitate the already established western hip-hop tones but rather reshapes it through his own cultural lense.

A rapper who demonstrates grounded realism, an unforced confidence that overcomes all language barriers.
By 2025, SKAI’s tracks such as 八方来财 (Stacks from All Sides), 因果 (Karma Code) and 大展宏图 (Blueprint Supreme) had propelled him to unprecedented streaming numbers for a mainland Chinese rapper, earning millions of listeners worldwide. In doing so, he has managed to balance hyper-local identity with global appeal — a rare feat in today’s music landscape.
ON THE ROAD IN AUS

The Recently concluded SKAI ISYOURGOD 2025 international tour - Australian Debut Leg, marked a rather significant chapter in Skai's growing international journey and reeputation. He continues to expand his work beyond borders.
During the Australia tour, UpCloud Studios (云上文化) spent seven days in close contact and exchange with SKAI and his team. This included a series of travel spent across cities, schedules, rehearsals and transitions—allowing space for genuine understanding to form.
He doesn’t try to explain himself too much. He works, he shows up, and he lets the music speak. There’s no rush to frame what he does, no need to dress it up. He moves in his own rhythm. (No pun intended)
SEVEN DAYS ON THE GROUND

Throughout the tour, we witnessed his strength beyond having close to no rest since the beginning of his tour. Endless travel by air paired with our production caravan on the road, 3 cities, 5 days, 7 live sets.
Our team were able to take some weight off the shoulders of SKAI and the team behind the scenes by pre-producing an opening and two intermission video productions. Although taking our team and our collaborating supports over 80 hours of work to complete, the three videos instantly rewarded us with compliments from the artist himself, the audience and the sponsors of the concert tour.
This being said we would like to thank all support we received in the production, namely: Jin Wu Koon Lion Dancing, Good Luck Hotpot and Haris English Teaching.
DOCUMENTED, NEVER FORGOTTEN

During the tour, we were invited to officially document this chapter of his journey. Currently in heavy post-production is a documentary that traces not only the performances, but the spaces in between: travel, preparation, decision-making, and reflection.
The film looks closely at the work behind the scenes, the organising parties behind the spotlight. While also exploring SKAI’s outlook—how he engages with the world around him, how he carries his cultural roots into international spaces, and how he positions himself within a rapidly expanding global audience. It is a portrait shaped by proximity, trust, and time.
What stood out quickly about him was how grounded he is behind the scenes. Between venues, soundchecks, travel days and late nights, he stayed locked in. Not loud, not dramatic — just consistent. The team behind it all including ACY Live, Highlight Entertainment and Redbox should be deeply commemorated for the hard work and strong efforts in being able to make the impossible, possible. Tight schedules, No rest, Multiple errors in the system.
One of the most memorable moments came during his interview with us for the official documentary. While he may appear reserved, even a little cool at first, the message he wanted to leave with his listeners and fans was simple and sincere:
“Thank you for your support. Live well and live happily.”“谢谢你们的喜欢,好好生活。”

He’s someone who is slow to warm up, but once he does, you really feel it — not through words, but through presence.
Following this tour wasn’t about proximity to the spotlight. It was about proximity to the process. Watching how he works, how his team moves together, how each night builds on the last — you start to understand that this path isn’t accidental. It’s earned, step by step.
With an international crowd, his intention felt quite simple: to bring more of the world into what he does, and to take what he’s built beyond China. His performances were about cultural exchange, different cities, different faces, the same energy moved through the room. Suddenly, language wasn’t a barrier; being in the moment meant the most.
A song that resonates with his international tour would be Dongjiang No.3, his first verse of:
'No.3 crosses the ocean beyond, to teach Rap.'
As he claims his own style in bringing this culture to an international stage.

We can't wait to see him again in March when he comes back down under for more!
